Port Length and Depths
The entrance to the Port of Ponce is 2.8 miles long and 38 ft. deep. Port of the Americas’ installations, which are mainly used by cargo ships, occupy approximately 314 acres of land. The access channel is 2.8 miles long by half a mile wide, and varies in depth from 50 to 150 ft.; closer to the docks depth fluctuates between 30 and 40 ft. thus allowing entrance to deeper draught ships.
