In Port Main Attractions
Old San Juan perhaps offers the largest concentration of cultural sites including a larger variety of museums, many located inside historical buildings and monuments. Most have provided guidinghistorical facts thru a trained guide or place a small factual signs in English and Spanish. Be aware that many close on Mondays, and open the balance of the week, from 9AM to 4:30 PM.
Plazas
Small and large, abound around the city as cooling stops for street walkers with shaded trees or have petite water fountains, and sitting benches. Others celebrate quietly with centered busts of famed men and women of our past. Several churches are scattered, being the catholic religion the dominant. Ask for a walking map at any of the city’s Tourism Information offices within Old San Juan. Stop at La Casita Information Center, across from Pier #1. They handle most cruise passenger’s needs. When in port it is open daily until 5:00pm to provide a bilingual, personalized attention to cruise ship passengers cruise calendar dates.

Art Galleries & Exhibits
They are located mostly on San Francisco, Cristo, San Jose, and Fortaleza streets. They sell graphic works from local artists; some store galleries ship them to USA. Many museums dedicate one or two halls for art exhibits, local crafts may also be in exhibits, plus many have art shops in premises too. Take something colorful and beautiful to collect back home. Artisan’s Market: A small group of artisans exhibiting hand crafts are located around La Casita Tourism Information Center building, across Pier #1, on cruise ship days and at Paseo La Princesa in weekend nights too.
