Driving Tips
1. Roads are clearly marked with numbers (not all have names) and maps are available.
2. Island's main roads and highways have one digit number
3. Island's expressways have two digit numbers
4. Secondary roads have three digits
5. Distances are shown in kilometers
6. Speed limits are indicated in miles per hour
7. Early itineraries (7:00am-8:30am) and afternoon hours (3:30-6:30pm) are always heavy on traffic, specifically in San Juan Metro area.
8. Tolls at expressway are frequent. Tolls have:
a. Change lanes - identified with a blue "C"
b. Exact-change lanes - identified with a green Arrow
c. Express Lanes (Auto Express) - identified with a green "E" - don't take this lane unless you have an electronic pass.
